A double tapped circuit breaker is when two wires (conductors) are connected to one specific circuit breaker or one terminal on the same circuit breaker. With two wires connected to the same breaker or terminal, the circuit breaker could overheat. If the two wires are not fastened tightly enough, this could result in arcing. (Arcing occurs when two electrodes produce a plasma discharge.) A fire may also occur if your circuit breaker is double tapped.

This home had the attic hatch eliminated. We requested the seller cut open a hatch access. We came back and found a roof installed over another roof. With no permit, the buyer can't be sure the roof was constructed properly.
Modern homes have roofs attached to the walls of the home with clips or straps having 3 or more nails on every truss. This home from the 1950s had only 2 nail clips. Insurance will be significantly higher but can be retrofitted to the new standard.

Trapco Inspections uses an infrared camera and moisture meter to determine if there is evidence of an active roof leak. This is an example of a leak we uncovered in a 22 year old roof with previous repairs.
We remove service panel covers to inspect breakers and wiring visually and with infrared. The branch circuits in this service panel had caught fire. Major electrical issues require further evaluation by a licensed electrician.
Skylights require extra attention. They are often the source of leaks, but also need to be inspected for whether they are hurricane impact tested and approved.
